Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7th, 1963 in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a family of faith with loving, committed parents. He is the eldest of three sons born to elder T.E Oyakhilome (one of the founders of Assemblies for God Church in Benin City) and Angelina. Angelina was the matriarch and imprinted her grace on her son from a young age.
The LoveWorld ministry includes all members of the family. The Reverend brother of Ken (the revered pastor of Christ Embassy Houston, Texas Church) and a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council are his two sisters. KattyWorghiren, the director of LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry is the home of several top-selling gospel singers.
Pastor Chris has two daughters, Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon has chosen to follow her father's example of sharing the Word of God with the world and is also called CSO, she is an accomplished gospel artist, award-winning and a member of the LoveWorld Music and Arts family.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his studies at Edo College. Then he was granted a scholarship to study at Bendel State University, now Ambrose Ali University. There he earned a BSc. in Architecture, as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He has also been awarded an honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University in divinity.
